Will not the end explain
The crossed endeavor, earnest purpose foiled,
The strange bewilderment of good work spoiled,
The clinging weariness, the inward strain?
Will not the end explain?

Meanwhile He comforteth
Them that are losing patience. "Tis His way:
But none can write the words they heard Him say,
For men to read; only they know He saith
Sweet words and comforteth.

Not that He doth explain
The mystery that baffleth; but a sense
Husheth the quiet heart, that far, far hence
Lieth a field set thick with golden grain
Wetted in seedling days by many a rain.
The end--it will explain.

---Gold Cord

Faith, the ability to believe yet not see. Hold fast to what you know to be true and never let go. Treat doubt as an adversary...the insidious adversary that it is. "Blessed are those that have not seen and yet believe." Be one of those......that remain steadfast to the end, without knowing all the answers or seeing all the results.

Certain "things" are in the cards for me. I know this. Finally. With age has come acceptance and release. And I am at peace. I have done what the Lord asked of me...and will continue to do that...and for Him it is enough. I will not strive to be that which I am not. What I am and what I do are His business.Cindy Campbellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06744271827179457576noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6304782.post-15384196599171992512020-01-23T12:45:00.000-06:002020-01-23T12:45:05.456-06:00A different direction.....Recently, I have been having some issues with my shoulder. That, added to the constant pain in my hip has pushed me to make yet another decision to change my diet and lifestyle to try and combat these issues if I can. All that I've read points to the elimination of several things from my diet and adding more of what is anti-inflammatory.

I bought Ross Bridgeford's "The Alkaline Reset Cleanse" several months ago and started following the guidelines but true to form I quit. Hopefully, this time I will continue on, since I'm going to document my success.

Day 1

Woke up this morning in a semi-state of depression. I have been battling "the beast" for several days now. Contributing factors are family issues and health issues. Family issues that I have no control over and health issues that I do have control over. Dr. Christiane Northrup states in her blog post concerning arthritis that all pain has it's roots in emotions. With arthritis it is fear and anger. Fear...of what? Angry at what? I guess I must consider this when trying to heal my body. I feel I have all the needed "ingredients" I just need to "take" them and appropriate them for myself.

So today, I am picking "The Alkaline Reset Cleanse" back up and starting over from page one. I desperately want to feel better, have less pain and lose a bit of weight. I don't want to move into my golden years and be sick. I refuse to accept that this is inevitable.

Observations:

1. Coffee is going to be hard to give up.

2. Sugar...is going to be hard to give up.

3. Corn doesn't like me...yet I love corn chips. Give me corn chips and salsa and I would be happy for the rest of my life. Note to self: Don't buy corn chips.

4. This will require a commitment and I'm really not good at extended commitment. The only things I have ever stuck with are marriage and children. Probably not entirely true...I have continued with specific hobbies for many years. But making lasting efforts with diet, no. I tend to fall back into the comfortable routines we've had for years. (As I reheat my coffee with cream and sugar for the third time this morning.)

5. No NSAIDS. This is hard. Seriously. No pain relievers?

6. I need to drink more water. This is perplexing to me. Why it's so hard for me to drink more water?

7. How does one get rid of anger when it's been a pretty constant companion for most of your life. I really can't remember a time when I wasn't angry or on the verge of anger. How do you determine why you're angry and how to get rid of that anger?

8. Practice gratitude....there is a tremendous amount to be thankful for. (Another blog post for sure.)

Last year my word for the year was kindness. I didn't learn to show kindness to myself. Perhaps I should continue with KINDNESS as my word for 2020.

I have always seen myself as a mean person, Seriously. Maybe this has come from a wounded and hurt (unhealed) spirit that lashes out and rejects before she can be rejected. Can I trace this back to anything in my past? I'm sure I can..the universal feeling we all feel when growing up of not feeling accepted, but first and foremost I don't accept myself. I don't even like myself. I have to live in a body, a brain, a mind and spirit that I don't like. How ridiculous is that? How does one begin to like oneself after so many years of not? How can one expect affection and love when they don't give that to themselves? Too many questions for this fine Thursday. I need to end this here.......more tomorrow.
Remember Grandma's apron? The one that covered everywhere you needed it to cover and didn't require ties, neck bands, or buttons. This is that apron. I have been wearing this style exclusively for the last couple years and love the comfort of it. Currently on Etsy these four are the first ones I have and only have one of each. Red, Yellow, Green and Blue. Check Etsy for prices and ordering.

All of the seam rippers that I currently have on my Etsy store are shown below. I will be getting more in different colors. If you would like to have one but another color would suit you better, please leave me a message and I will be happy to help you get whatever color you prefer.

"The Double" has a hand made acrylic lathed handle. At one end is a seam ripper and at the other end is an awl. Dual purpose makes it a very handy for crafters and sewers.
Here are the two colors of the The Double, pink and teal, that I am currently stocking on my Etsy site. www.etsy/com/shop/theeyeletelephant. I only have one of each.
Here is the "The Single". Same type of acrylic lathed handle as The Double but a little slimmer. I currently have blue and purple available.
The last is "The Necklace". One on end is the seam ripper and it's attached to the chain with a magnet at the other end. Very useful for those of us that prone to losing our seam rippers in the couch cushion or misplacing it on our sewing table. The three colors I have right now are yellow, white with colored swirls and blue.

In that vein, here are my crocheted pot holders that are available on my Etsy site. They are practical, very useful, colorful and make me happy to make them, look at them and use them. With Thanksgiving coming up you might need extra pot holders and they make excellent stocking stuffers for Christmas. Special orders can be made if your demand exceeds my supply. Head on over to my Etsy site.... The Eyelet Elephant and check them out. While you are there browse through my other offerings. I'm sure there is something you can use.
These cute fabric cases have multiple uses. They originally started out as gift card cases and I soon realized that they were the perfect size if you wanted to carry just a few credit cards, a few business cards or even money. (pssst...for those of you who still need them, they accommodate several tampons very discreetly) I offer quite a few more colors on my Etsy site so skip on over there and pick up a few for your holiday gifts that are going to be gift cards...or for yourself!! I am changing my blog to The Eyelet Elephant. New things to come.....Etsy store opened. Now I have to stock it and add my wares. I hope you come back to see what I have to offer.

On Facebook: The Eyelet Elephant.
On Etsy: theeyeletelephant
CindyCindy Campbellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06744271827179457576noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6304782.post-58630912805944212842018-04-20T16:32:00.000-05:002018-04-20T16:32:20.974-05:00It's now some years later.....

My intent all along was to post here what I was in the process of making or had made. That didn't happen. Instead, I got a part-time job working in retail. That had morphed into a full-time job and then much more than that. My time was taken. I earned money but I had less time to feed my soul with creativity.

An old friend is in the same situation as I am. Well...as I was. I have stepped back down to part-time and will now be trying (as a million and one other people) to sell my wares on Etsy. We'll see how it goes. But you never know until you try. I have to try.

Not having any followers on this blog leads me to think that it won't make any difference if I post or not. But if it makes a difference to me, then I need to do it.

If anyone out there is interested, you can begin to (slowly) see what my friend and I have on Etsy if you go to this shop, CampbellKeithdezigns. (Etsy is stupid about their shop titles.) The name of our business is going to be Campbell & Keith Dezigns. We have no labels yet. No website. But we have a name and we have a plethora of ideas. If you like an eclectic mix of things.....diversity and color. You will like what we (will) have.

I will post a few of my items here....and the first posting is of a simple pair of earrings.

Originally I was going to call my jewelry designs "Simply Yours"...but I'm toying with the idea of "Moondance". But I haven't decided on the final name yet.

I will also be making children's clothing, books, blankets, journals, notecards, paintings, pin cushions...and whatever else I find I have an interest in. If you have anything you'd like made...contact me at campbellandkeithdezigns@gmail.com.

If I make it...they will come. (That is what I'm counting on.)

Hopefully yours............
I think I'm going to call them, "Key-Fobulous". When I find a craft or a project that I enjoy I can't stop with making just ONE. I have to make several...and several for ME could mean 40 or 50.

I found the hardware to make these fobs from an Etsy site. Mamasgonecrazy or something like that. Appropriate for me I thought. LOL So within a few days I had 50+ fobs made. I told you it was my latest obsession. I make them in two widths. 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch. My latest find at T.J. Maxx, yesterday in Dallas, was a hanger that was perfect to display them. Now if only I could find a cute place around here to sell them. Prices FOR NOW...are $4.00 for the 1 inch and $5.00 for the 1 1/4 inch.

My next "obsessional project" is going to be pin cushions. I can just feel it. Check back later to see those. Should you want to view more key fobs go to Facebook and search for Daydream Dezigns. Click on photos and then on the key fob folder.

Thanks for stopping by!
She had made two for her sister and I loved them. They are crocheted with cotton yarn. Most of the ones I have made have been given as presents to my daughters, my daughter-in-law and my sisters. They all seem to like them and I use the ones I made for myself all the time. Most of what I plan to put on my Etsy site will be on here first to see what the responses will be, if any. Stay tuned for more "stuff".
CindyCindy Campbellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06744271827179457576noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6304782.post-38773715182669090322011-02-04T16:03:00.002-06:002011-02-04T17:01:15.892-06:00My newest adventureI have a new, dare I say, obsession. It's crocheting. I have always crocheted but the bug has bitten me again. I became reacquainted with an old friend and in that process she turned me on to the idea of crocheting the edges of fleece and making scarves. THIS I have been doing for the last three months and my accumulated effort is growing in my studio. I have also been making baby blankets done in the same way, made of fleece, with crocheted edges, in the dimensions of receiving blankets. These blankets I am calling Blessing Blankets while the scarves will be Selah Scawl Scarves. HOPEFULLY, I will be posting photos of them here as well as on my Etsy site where they will be for sale. I haven't gotten the advertising tags designed nor have I finalized the way I'm going to package them OR the wording I want to use to describe them for the Etsy site so I continue to crochet and hope that eventually I'll get around to doing the business end of it. My Etsy site will be called Daydream Dezigns.Cindy Campbellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06744271827179457576noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6304782.post-69662011583895542212010-11-02T17:04:00.003-05:002010-11-02T19:55:23.997-05:00Blogging againI have decided to undelete this blog. What am I saying...?... it all takes time.

Below: the side view for effect. :)

Here is a the full monty. It might be a few days for the finish project to emerge from the studio door...but I will post it when done. Since I made it a little bigger than the other PB&J Blankets, (5 squares by 5 squares instead of the normal 4 sq. by 5 sq.) I now do not have a piece of fabric big enough for the backing. Well, at least one big enough that I want to use. DRAT IT ALL ANYWAY!!! That means another trip to Joann's Fabrics to find the backing and that means more temptation. I literally have to pray my way through the aisles of that place. SO much to see and way way way tooooo much to buy. Pray for me as I venture forth. I'm serious about that request btw.

I find the day goes much better when handled with prayer and supplication. It's hard for me to understand it, but the Lord says he likes for me to talk to Him about everything. So be it....

More tomorrow....or maybe later today.

In, to, and for Him,

Cindy

Cindy Campbellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06744271827179457576noreply@blogger.com4
